Reflection

     When working on this project, I was able to learn about many different Web 2.0 technologies. Each technology has its own special quirks which make it the best that it can be. The Web 2.0 technology which I enjoyed the most was PowerPoint. I have worked with PowerPoint in the past and have achieved great success with it. I see it being able to bring great things in the future for me in the classroom. Whenever I have a presentation, I am able to put my thoughts together and present them in a way that is appeasing to the eye. The information is able to be brought together and presented in a different way then just lecturing. Students are also able to use PowerPoint in the classroom. Elementary students are able to begin working with PowerPoint to begin developing knowledge for it. They are able to work together in groups as well to work on a project which is something that students do like to do. The students would be able present their information and add elements to it to make it more appealing. PowerPoint can also incorporate other Web 2.0 technologies. iMovies, web pages, concept maps, and Flickr as well at other technologies can be brought into a PowerPoint presentation. This is another reason why I think PowerPoint would be very helpful in my classroom in the future. The students would be able to learn so much from it and be able to bring it into other parts of their lives. PowerPoint also touches on most of the NET Standards. This would allow the teacher to make assignments according to the standards so the students will be able to learn the information needed to achieve these standards. In being an elementary school teacher, I believe that PowerPoint would be a great tool to use in the classroom. I would be able to engage the students more in class learning with adding videos and other elements in to the PowerPoint to make the students more interested in class. The students are also able to work with PowerPoint for their own projects and interest. I believe PowerPoint will greatly help me out in my classroom in the future and be very beneficial for both my teaching and the students learning.
